Milan, 1508. Un matin d’avril, une tête est retrouvée dans le baptistère de Saint-Ambroise. Chargé d’enquêter sur cette affaire, le prévôt Vittore est bien en peine de démêler les fils de cette affaire. Rien dans ce meurtre n’est ordinaire. Ni l’attitude de l’évêque de Milan, qui semble redouter le pire des cataclysmes, ni l’arrivée subite du célèbre Michelangelo, qui a dû abandonner la fresque qu’il était en train de peindre dans la chapelle de Sixte. Mais le plus troublant demeure ce plat d’argent où reposait la tête, et sur lequel était gravés ces mots : VENIT IUSTITIAE SOL – Le Soleil de Justice a brillé.
Milan, 1508. One April morning, a head is found in the baptistery of Sant'Ambrogio. Tasked with investigating the case, Provost Vittore struggles to unravel its threads. Nothing about this murder is ordinary. Neither the attitude of the Bishop of Milan, who seems to fear the worst of cataclysms, nor the sudden arrival of the renowned Michelangelo, who had to abandon the fresco he was painting in the Sistine Chapel. But the most disturbing element remains the silver platter on which the head rested, engraved with the words: VENIT IUSTITIAE SOL – The Sun of Justice has shone.
